Rs. 2 lakh ex gratia for kins of bus-cart accident victims

The state government today announced an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each to the kin of 11 victims of yesterday's road accident near Dhapayian village, officials said here.
Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today visited Sri Guru Ramdas Charitable Hospital Vallah, where the injured are admitted, and interacted with them.
He said the government will offer all possible help to them and they will be provided free treatment.
Instructions in this regard have been issued, he said.
Majithia directed the Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat, who was accompanying him, and other authorities concerned for providing specialised diagnostic and treatment facilities to the injured.
Majithia said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal have expressed grief over the accident.

The fatal accident took place yesterday when a bus hit a 'peter rehra' (homemade motorised cart), carrying labourer, from behind, near Dhapayian village on Amritsar-Mehta road killing nine and injuring 15 others.
The death reached 11 today as two of the injured passengers succumbed in hospital, police said.
The locals had torched the bus after the accident.
