KUFOS said the government accorded the administrative sanction of the amount that was allocated to the university in the state budget for this fiscal.
Infrastructure (Rs 12.60 crore),education (Rs 3.10 crore) research (Rs 2.50 crore), extension (Rs 1.40 crore) and administration (Rs 40 lakh) are the five areas to which the amount was sanctioned, it said in a release here.
The major innovative programmes under research include a centre for biofloc technology, water and soil analysis laboratories, automatic weather station and climate service centre, vannamei shrimp farming and the project for finding out non-conventional species for brackish water and marine species for aquaculture.
Moreover, construction of a seminar complex at the University headquarters in Panangad, library and hostel buildings in Puduveypu and expansion of museum are also included in the projects.
