The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Planning and Development Department) Vijay Prakash told reporters here today.
The completion of restoration work of the canal would ensure irrigation of 3.20 lakh hectare farmland in Saran, Siwan and Gopalganj districts, he said.
In all, the Cabinet granted approval to 14 agenda of different departments, Prakash said.
