The Jammu and Kashmir government today said during the past three years, a sum of Rs 310.60 crore has been spent in the state under National Rural Health Mission.
Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan said this in a reply to a question in the Legislative Council.
The Minister said the necessary medical apparatus is procured by the state through a tendering process after four purchase committees finalise the prices.
Shabir said 10,692 ASHA workers have been selected in the state so far, of which 496 are working in Rajouri and 374 in Poonch district.
He termed ASHA worker a link between the community and health system, who creates awareness on health and social issues, besides mobilising the community in accessing health related services.
