The government's written reply came in response to a query by Congress MLA Dr Tejashree Patel, who had sought details regarding the expenses about this project in the last two years from Chief Minister Anandi Patel, who handles the Urban Development portfolio, among others.
The MLA had also sought the progress report of this project from the state government.
In her reply, the Chief Minister stated that Rs 372.55 crore were spent on the Metro rail project in 2013 and Rs 99.74 crore in 2014.
She further said that the Detailed Design Consultants (DDCs) have been appointed for designing viaduct for East-West and North-South corridors. DDCs are also appointed for designing 10 stations on North-South corridor.

Patel also said that a tender is being prepared for the civil work of the 6-km route of East-West corridor, covering Vastral area and Apparel Park in Ahmedabad.
About the project cost, the Chief Minister stated that both Gujarat government as well as the Centre would invest Rs 1,990 crore each into the project as equity investment.
