Rs 52-cr centre to be set up at Pune for tools industry

A Common Engineering Facilities Centre (CEFC) would be set up in Pune at a cost Rs 51.92 crore for tools, moulds and dies industry.
Enlisting its achievements and success stories of 2015, the Department of Heavy Industry said said the project would be implemented within a year.
"The objective of this project is to upgrade existing tooling industry in and around Pune," it said in a statement.
Its main focus would be on those activities and services which are not available with the small and medium units like tool trial, validation, calibration set up, high end manufacturing facilities, it added.
The centre would also run short term training courses with emphasis on practical training.
Further it said as part of the roadmap for revival or closure of CPSEs, the ministries and departments will have to analyse the performance of its CPSEs to classify them as sick or weak within six months of the closure of the financial year.

"As per the guidelines, the administrative Ministry/ Department, at the end of the each financial year, analyses the performance of its CPSEs to classify them by a specific order into sick, incipient sick and weak CPSEs within 6 months of the closure of the financial year or within one month from finalisation of annual accounts, whichever is earlier," it said.
Further it said Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has achieved a total order booking of Rs 22,457 crore up to October in the current financial year so far, as against Rs 15,079 crore up to October 2014 during the last financial year.
It also said that the compilation and processing of information for Public Enterprises Survey, 2014-15 is underway, which will be laid in Parliament during the Budget Session in February.
