Gold biscuits worth about Rs 55 lakh were found abandoned under a seat of a private airline flight that arrived from Singapore at the airport here today.
Customs officials seized the gold biscuits, weighing about 1.5 kg, from the Indigo flight after being alerted by the airline staff, airport officials said.
The flight was to be operated in the domestic sector later in the day and customs officials suspect smugglers would have deliberately left the gold under the seat so that their operative could take it without customs check.
Further investigations were on, they said.
