Describing the project, Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said seven new 'kuhls' (small water distributing channels) shall be constructed to benefit the 16 villages of the area.
"The foundation stone of the scheme shall be laid on 21st of this month, and the work shall be completed in fixed time frame," the minister said.
He said this is the biggest irrigation project in Dharamsala since Independence.
The area is the Basmati rice bowl of Kangra district.
