Replying to a question by MLA Rajeev Sharma in Assembly, he said that Jammu and Kashmir has received Rs 619.67 crore under the Centre's Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) for strengthening of infrastructure in power sector and electrification of un-electrified households in rural areas.
Singh said the execution of works under the scheme would be taken up after completion of tendering process, which has already been started.
He said DPR amounting to Rs 330.45 lakh for setting up a new transformer repair workshop at Akhnoor has been framed and submitted for obtaining Techno Economic Clearance (TEC).
"The land for the workshop has been identified in Receiving Station Tanda. The work is not sanctioned under any programme and scheme at present. However issue has been taken up with the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department for providing requisite funds as additionality during the current financial year," he said.
