The Chenab Water Supply Project's first phase is proposed to be commissioned in 2016 at an estimated cost of Rs 771 crore, Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE), Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma said while reviewing the progress of the proposed project here.
The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme (JKUSDIP).
The Minister issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers to clear all bottlenecks coming in the way of project so that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is forwarded to the ADB for funding.
Also, to fast track things, the Minister constituted a committee of officers of concerned departments which will look into the matters relating to the finalisation of project. The Committee has been asked to go into the details and clear all hurdles in its clearance in a time bound manner.
