"Connectivity of the area would go a long way to boost the tourism and economic activities of the region," he said.
"Ladakh is the pride of India, funds to the tune of Rs 9,000 crore have been sanctioned for the prestigious Zojilla tunnel which would ensure all-year connectivity of the region with the rest of the state," Singh said at a function organised by the students from Ladakh.
Singh said the government was committed to accelerate the development of Ladakh and a special package under the Prime Minister's Reconstruction Plan would be provided to the region under different sectors like Tourism, Power, Housing, Education so that the people of this region also get benefitted.
While responding to the demands of the Ladakhi students, the Deputy Chief Minister said the provision of teaching more subjects in the satellite campus of Kashmir University at Leh would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
