Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Chandrasekhar today flayed the motive behind the release of the controversial draft Revised Master Plan-2031 for Bengaluru before the coming state assembly polls, saying it would benefit "politically-patronised" builders.
"What is the motive of RMP two months before election? Land use conversion.Who benefits from it- it is politically-patronised builders who would benefit moneywise.... it is all in public domain," he said.
The Bangalore Development Authority, which had prepared the draft RMP, had released it recently and invited comments from the public.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had said recently that a commitee would look into the comments received from the public before taking a final decision.
Replying to a query, Chandrasekhar said anti-incumbency was staring in the face of Congress in Karnataka.
"I am not in BJP, I am an independent MP, a part of NDA. Anti-incumbency factor is staring in the face of Congress here. I am 100 per cent sure there will not be a Congress government this year," he told PTI here.

Chandrasekhar said in all likelihood, BJP would form the government in Karnataka.
The election would be a referendum on the Siddaramaiah government, he added.
Chandrasekhar said people of Bengaluru were frustrated with "misgoverance" of Siddaramaiah government with regard to "deteriorating" law and order, safety of women and children and civic problems.
"For election purposes, the Congress government says it is pro-poor, but its nearly five years rule contradicts every claim it is making today," he said.
