Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights is mulling organising a film festival for children from shelter homes in the state wherein children will be trained and films made by them will be screened.
"Under this initiative, children themselves would make films on the issues of their choices, for which the assistance would be provided by the commission and then their films would be screened in a film festival for them," said Chairperson of the Commission Manan Chaturvedi during her visit to Jodhpur.
The objective is to bring these children of shelter homes to the main stream of life through activities, Chaturvedi said.
Chaturvedi said that the commission would identify and hone talents and skills of the children and associate them with creative activities.
She said that steps are being taken to constitute a Children Parliament in the state comprising children in the age group of 15 and 18 years to promote creative activities in them.
"This parliament would act as a platform for the children to develop their talents and express their creativity through activities," she said, adding that this initiative would break the monotony of routine at the home and motivate them to do something of their interest.
