RSP wins CSR awards

Rourkela Steel Plant has
won a number of awards by the World CSR Congress for its contribution towards peripheral development.
The awards were presented during the 'Global CSR Excellence & Leadership Award presentation ceremony' organised at Mumbai recently, RSP sources said today.
RSP CEO G S Prasad received the 'CSR Leadership Award' for his 'visionary leadership' that guided the plant in contributing significantly towards enhancing the quality of life of people living in the periphery villages as well as the poor and underprivileged of the steel city.
The other award was for 'Best CSR Practices' for initiatives taken by RSP in different fields like income generation, women's empowerment, health and sanitation, education and enhancing quality of life.
RSP also bagged an award in 'Women's Empowerment' category for measures taken by it in educating and empowering village women and make them agents of change, they said.
In the category of 'Support and Improvement in Quality of Education' it won another award for extending help to poor and underprivileged sections of the society by way of infrastructure and support facilities to a number of educational institutions, apart from granting scholarships to the deserving candidates, the sources said.
Organisations and countries from more than 80 countries participated at the two-day meet.
