"The Defence Minister has given credit of the surgical strikes to RSS teachings instead of the army...If this army action was really an outcome of RSS teachings, then its activists should be deployed on the borders to guard the country instead of the jawans," Congress observer of the Lucknow district unit of the party Husain Dalvi told reporters here.
The Rajya Sabha MP said it would be better if the RSS activists, "indulging in divisive activities" in the country, faced the "enemy".
Speaking at a programme in Ahmedabad on Monday, Parrikar had appeared to have given credit for the decision to carry out surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to RSS teachings.
Dalvi was confident about his party's prospects in the upcoming Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh and said it would emerge as the "kingmaker" and no government will be formed without its "help".
The Congress leader dropped a hint of an alliance with the Janata Dal (United) and Peace Party for the polls but did not elaborate further.
