Police today said the RSS activist who was allegedly "training" the inmates of Jawahar Bagh hails from Deen Dayal Dham in the district and not from Agra.
"We have some information that RajveerSingh, who according to Viresh Yadav, the 'security officer' of Ram Vriksh Yadav, was training the inmates of Jawahar Bagh, belongs to Deen Dayal Dham in Mathura and not Agra," SSP Babloo Kumar told reporters, adding that police would make all-out efforts to trace him.
Viresh's wife Lalita Devi claimed that she was a frequent visitor to Jawahar Bagh, said the SSP.
"While I was not permanently living in Jawahar Bagh, my husband used to stay there," Lalita was quoted as saying. She claimed that on June 2, she had fled from Jawahar Bagh along with her husband by scaling the boundary wall after firing had started.
Violent clashes between police and illegal encroachers at Jawahar Bagh had left 29 people dead, including two police officers, on June 2.
Viresh, the 'security officer' of Ram Vriksh Yadav, was nabbed by the police from Balaji Puram Colony under Sadar Bazaar police station along with his wife and two children on the intervening night of Tuesday and yesterday.
Meanwhile, leader of Uttar Pradesh Congress Legislature Party Pradeep Mathur has condemned "the dual face" of RSS for helping an enchroacher of government land.
"It has not only exposed the dual face of RSS, but has shown how low it can stoop to," he said, demanding a thorough investigation into the allegation as he suspected the "involvement of more RSS activists" in the incident.
