An RTI activist today alleged that the Rajasthan government was "misusing" public funds for advertising its achievements in newspapers and TV channels in an election year, a charge refuted by the government.
RTI activist Ashok Pathak also submitted a complaint with anti-corruption bureau and demanded to lodge FIR against chief minister and director of public relations department.
"The government is misusing public money in releasing advertisements in newspapers and on TV channels for the last couple of months," RTI activist Ashok Pathak said.
"Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is trying to improve their image through this campaign in an election year," he alleged.
A government spokesperson, however, rejected Pathak's allegations and termed them as "baseless".
"The allegations (of corruption) are baseless. There is no irregularity in connection with the release of advertisements," the official said.
Pathak said he has written to the President, PM, the Governor and the Chief Election Commissioner seeking investigation into the matter.
