Nehru, representing Orleanpet segment, alleged that while applicants from other constituencies were getting the benefits of loan schemes operated by the Coporation, those hailing from his constituency were "discriminated against and sidelined'.
He wanted the Corporation to sanction loans and educational assistance to members of Backward Classes hailing from his constituency.
Corporation Chairman Balamurugan held talks with the legislator and promised him that his grievances would be looked into following which he called off the protest.
