A 34-year-old murder suspect, who had escaped from judicial custody in November last year and was living in hiding, died of tuberculosis at a hospital here.
Bhanupratap Rathor, a resident of Ujjain in Madhaya Pradesh, died here last night while receiving treatment in government hospital, said Investigation Officer Mahindera Singh.
Rathor was suffering from tuberculoses and was living in a rented accommodation in Sadarbajar area of the city.
Last night people rushed him to the hospital after his condition worsened.
The news paper cuttings, documents and passport recovered from his room established that Rathor was wanted in a murder case of Love Bairagi of Indore and had escaped from the judicial custody in November 2012, the officer said.
He was living in Bundi for the last six months, he said.
When Indore and Ujjain police were contacted, they confirmed the facts about Rathor, he said, adding that police of both the cities as well as the family members of the deceased have been informed.
Post mortem would be conducted after their arrival, he said.
