He the Rural Development and Panchayats department will organise these competitions at three different levels namely at Block, Zila and State level.
The minister said men and women from rural areas and members of Panchayati Raj Institutions are eligible to participate in these competitions.
Maluka said the competitions at Block and Zila Level would be held by March 10 where as the State Level competitions would be organised by the end of March or the first week of April.
He said the competitions for men include Kabadi (circle style), volley ball, tug of war, short put and 200m race where as for females the competition would be held in Kabadi (national style) and 200 m race.
Maluka said that the aim of organising Rural Sports Competition is to inculcate sports culture amongst youth and simultaneously help to maintain physical fitness.
