Russell Brand to fight half-million-dollar lawsuit

Russell Brand is heading to court to fight a half-million-dollar lawsuit after a security guard said the comic actor ran him over.
The patrolman has accused that the 37-year-old star, who only passed his test two years ago, of hitting him with his Range Rover.
Brand could be ordered to pay 120,000 pounds to Victor Sneed, who claims he suffered multiple injuries, reported Sun online.
If Brand loses, legal fees could triple the sum to 360,000 pounds.
The guard said that injuries in his hand, arm, hip and neck injuries have left him unable to work. Sneed put his medical expenses at 24,000 pounds and he wants another 100,000 pounds at least for future surgery.

Brand has denied causing the injuries outside a chemist in January last year and is prepared to go to court next May.
He said Sneed was the "cause of the accident and any injuries he sustained".
