"He's fine. He's stable," an official at the 37 Military Hospital in the west African country's capital Accra told AFP on condition of anonymity.
The Russian supreme court's spokesman told Interfax news agency that Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Lebedev "will be transferred to Moscow as early as today" if a flight can be arranged.
The spokesman, Pavel Odintsov, said he spoke with Lebedev by phone and he "told me he was doing well."
A Russian embassy official in Accra declined to provide further details on Lebedev's condition.

The government statement also described him as being in stable condition.
Local media reported that Lebedev appeared to be in pain but there were no apparent signs of external injuries when he was being treated at a regional hospital before being airlifted to Accra by the military.
Officials said that Lebedev was on his way to Accra after an address at the Ghana Bar Association in the city of Ho when the accident occurred.
Lebedev was in Ghana on a four-day visit at the invitation of the country's chief justice and had arrived on Saturday.
