Russian Cellist Oleg Vedernikov was fired following allegation over his attempt to keep his feet right on the front seat in a train disregarding objections from a Chinese woman passenger on-board, official media here reported.
On May 14, Vedernikov, a principal cellist of Orchestra created flutter in a train for stretching his legs on to the back of seat in front. He refused to move his legs when a woman passenger who was sitting there objected to it and reportedly spoke to her insultingly.
The incident was reported by the state media after the pictures of his "misbehaviour" went viral on the online media evoking angry reactions from public about how foreigners are behaving in China.
After the incident, the BSO believed that Vedernikov's behaviour has seriously damaged its reputation decided to fire him, People's Daily reported.
Another incident reported earlier, in which a drunken British tourist attempted to molest Chinese woman right on a busy road late in evening, along with this one drew some angry reactions against foreigners.
The police too launched a campaign to check travel papers of foreigners in Beijing.
