Wildcard Rutuja Bhosale clinched the maiden ITF women's singles title of her career, lifting the Aurangabad Open trophy with a 6-4 6-4 win over Mahak Jain in the final, here today.
Bhosale, who played college tennis in the US before turning Pro, justified the faith of the organisers in awarding her a wildcard as she returned to country after a gap of five years.
Pranjala Yadlapalli and China's Xiaoxi Zhao denied Bhosale a double crown winning the womens doubles title.
In a well contested finals both Bhosale and Jain broke each other thrice before Bhosale got a decisive break in the ninth game and held the next to take the opener.
In the second set, which saw some superb rallies, Bhosale broke Jain in the fifth game and then held her serve in the sixth game to open up a 4-2 lead.
However Jain played solid from the baseline to break back in the eighth to make it on serve. Bhosale though broke Jain in the ninth again, hitting three forehand winners and managed to hold on to her 10th game and win the title.
The winner made 12 WTA points and earned USD 2352 for her efforts while Jain made seven points and got USD 1470.
Bhosale also made it to the doubles finals partnering Kanika Vaidya but were beaten by Pranjala Yadlapalli and Xiaoxi Zhao of China 6-2 3-6 4-10.
