The 37-year-old record producer has revealed that he is heading into the studio with Bay, 26, and the pair will bring a new track next year, reported FemaleFirst.
"James Bay would be great to work with. Someone connected us and we plan on writing together at the beginning of 2017, around January. But yeah, James is my favourite newcomer," Tedder said.
Tedder believes that they both will get along well in the studio because is keen to work with people that "move" him.
"You've got limited time in a day and you have to choose the ones that move you the most. You can't just chase the ones that you think you're going to have a hit with.
