"The tried and tested alliance between the two parties is a unique phenomenon of the Indian democratic system. It has passed every litmus test in the last few decades," the 5-time Chief Minister said.

The seat-sharing in Maharashtra is the personal matter of both the parties and it should not be linked with that of the SAD-BJP in Punjab, he said.
"The relations between the SAD and the BJP are very cordial. They have been time and again cemented with mutual affection and understanding," Badal said.
"The SAD-BJP government has put Punjab on high growth trajectory," he said.
