SAD candidate from Faridkot Lok Sabha seat was shown black flags by farmers here for allegedly not implementing an agreement signed by the State government with them in which farm labourers had to be given 5 marlas plots.
Incumbent MP Paramjeet Kaur Gulshan, who is seeking reelection from Faridkot (reserve) constituency, faced the ire of agitating farmers under the banner of Bharti Kisan Union (Etka), when she was campaigning in Kokri Kalan and Ajitwal villages yesterday.
Police stopped agitators from moving towards the venue of election meeting in order to prevent any untoward incident.
Sukhdev Singh Kokri, general secretary BKU (ekta), today said that farmers had already given to call to boycott the SAD-BJP candidate in Lok Sabha elections. He said the SAD candidate would be shown black flags if they again visit these villages to seek votes.
He said the SAD-BJP ruling alliance had failed to honour the agreement signed with farmers in the month of February this year in which farm labourers were to be given 5 marlas plots.
