Former union minister Subodh Kant Sahay today said that the BJP's claim that it took its own decisions all through the years had fallen flat after the RSS came in open on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
"The BJP says the party takes its own decisions, and did not allow RSS' any intervention. Now Mohan Bhagavat backing Narendra Modi exposes the party's tall claims," Sahay said here.
Addressing the PCC's Chhotanagpur Division Convention in the presence of AICC General Secretary B K Hariprasad and other leaders of the state, Sahay alleged Modi believed in "marketing" himself, and such people did not become prime ministers.
"The country believes in unity in diversity, and the need of the hour is to launch Rastriya Ekta Yatra, not any divisive yatras," he added.
"The Congress is a party which believes in sacrifices. AICC President Sonia Gandhi made effort in passing the Food Security Bill after the 100 days guaranteed employment under MG-NREGA to help the poor," he said, adding AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi was already working effortlessly in connecting people.
