Sahitya Akademi to organise annual 'festival of letters'

Over 170 writers and scholars would take part in the week-long annual 'festival of letters', being organised by Sahitya Akademi from coming Monday.
The celebration would also commemorate the 60th years of the Akademi and constitute of events such as writers meet on March 10, a samvatsar lecture by eminent scholar Asis Nandy and 'face to face' where the scholars will be in conversation with the Sahitya Akademi Award winners of 2014, said a statement.
It is also organising a programme on the occasion titled 'purvottari' to provide a national platform to the writers and scholars from the Northeast region on March 13 and 'spin-a-tale', a programme specially designed for children with story telling and poetry writing competition.
