Even as marketing and sales jobs are seeing a growth for suitably skilled professionals, there continues to be a talent mismatch in Hyderabad, making it difficult for employers to hire people, a survey said.
Over 38 per cent of marketing and sales job openings in Hyderabad remain unfilled after 60 days, according to a survey by job portal Indeed India.
While there is no shortage of active job seekers, there appears to be a mismatch of talent with employers finding it difficult to hire people with the right skills to fill these roles, it added.
With the advent of digital marketing and the integrated sales approach, the sector is seeing a rise in demand for suitably skilled professionals in these areas, it said.
Though the job site witnesses a high number of 'clicks' or active job seekers for postings in the segment, it finds that these potential applicants do not possess relevant qualifications to fulfil the responsibilities the role entails, and hence positions remain unfilled for extended periods, it explained.
"Sectors that are facing a particularly large talent crunch include marketing and sales, management and administration, software and human resources," Indeed India managing director Sashi Kumar said.

These sectors, he said, have over 30 per cent of jobs that are hard to fill.
"While employers are facing a challenge in finding candidates with the all the right skills to match a given job profile, their task is often made more difficult by applicants that are ill-equipped for," he added.
The silver lining in such a situation is of course, for those job seekers who have the requisite skills and can take their pick from among the vacancies available, the survey said.
