Goa Cricket Association's (GCA) former chief Shekhar Salkar has demanded that the BCCI should appoint an administrator on the cricketing body to govern its functioning following arrest of its three senior officials for alleged financial irregularities.
"It's the time that BCCI should act and appoint (an) administrator on GCA to govern its functioning. If not BCCI then, at least (the) state (Goa) government should appoint the administrator," Salkar told PTI today.
Yesterday, GCA president Chetan Dessai, secretary Vinod Phadke and treasurer Akbar Mulla were arrested by police for alleged misappropriation of Rs 3.13 crore belonging to the organisation.
Salkar further demanded that the Cricket Board should immediately suspend the trio from their position.
"I am not demanding that entire body of GCA should be suspended. Only these three officials (Dessai, Phadke and Mulla) should go home. There's a provision in GCA constitution to take such action," he added.
According to the former GCA president, Dessai is also marketing committee chairman of BCCI and he should be suspended from that post also.

Salkar claimed that GCA's life members including Prasad Fatarpekar, Vilas Dessai and Hemant Angle had brought to BCCI's notice about the alleged financial fraud committed by trio but the Board never acted against them.
"But BCCI never took cognizance. They never acted against them. If they had acted, then this situation (the arrest) would not have arisen," he claimed.
Inspector Shivram Vaingankar of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Goa Police yesterday told PTI that all three (Dessai, Phadke and Mulla) were called for questioning last evening and were subsequently arrested.
The EOW had filed an FIR against the trio in connection with the allegedfraud of Rs 3.13 crore on June 3.
