Mendes has not confirmed that he will be returning to direct Daniel Craig in the next outing for the iconic spy, but Purvis and Wade will be leaving the franchise after having already worked in five films, reported Showbizspy.
"We"re very happy to have done five Bond movies. I think we have gotten it to a good place. I know that John Logan and Sam Mendes have come up with a plot for another one, which takes the pressure off because these films take up a lot of time," Wade said.
The duo worked on "The World Is Not Enough", "Die Another Day" and the three films which have starred Daniel, "Casino Royale", "Quantum of Solace" and "Skyfall" and said that they initially planned to step down after their fourth movie for the series.
"We were going to stop with 'Quantum of Solace', but it is good to go out on a high with 'Skyfall'," Purvis said.
The pair also said that they were 'tempted' to kill off Bond.
"Killing him off, although we have been tempted," Wade added.
