Sampla asks officials to provide monetary aid to Dalit youth's

Union Minister Vijay Sampla today directed the Deputy Commissioner of Mansa to provide monetary help of Rs 8.25 lakh to the family of the Dalit youth who was allegedly murdered brutally by a rival liquor gang in the district.
The monetary help which is mandated under the Prevention of Atrocities Act will be disbursed in two equal installments, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said.
Half of the money will be given immediately, while the remaining amount will be provided when the case is wrapped up, he said.
"BJP state General Secretary Kewal Kumar and other leaders visited the aggrieved family in Gharangana village. All three accused in the case have been arrested and senior police officials have assured the party leaders that they will be dealt with as per law," the Punjab party chief said.
"The central government is committed towards the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and the victim's family will be provided justice at any cost," Sampla added.
A 20-year-old Dalit youth, who was allegedly involved in illegal liquor trade, was brutally killed and his leg chopped off allegedly by a rival group of liquor smugglers in Mansa district on October 11.
