Samsung made its entry into wearable computing device business with the launch of Galaxy Gear that will notify users and give them quick previews of incoming texts, e-mails and more coming from Galaxy Note 3, the latest phone in Note series.
While the company has priced smartwatch at USD 299 (about Rs 19,700), the price of Note 3 could not be immediately known. The earlier version of the smartphone, Galaxy Note 2, is available for around Rs 37,000 in India.
A company official, who did not wished to be named, said the devices will be launched in India at the same time.
The latest Note smartphone has slightly bigger 5.7 inch screen but is thinner and lighter than its previous version and comes with mutliple new features.

The Gear will be initially compatible with Galaxy Note 3 and tablet Galaxy Tab 10.1, which was also launched here.
"Both the Note 3 and Gear complement each other," Shin added.
Samsung incorporated a 13 megapixel rear camera in its Note series product.
With this device Samsung has also attempted to grab pie in business from enterprises.
The company has incorporated Samsung Knox option in the phone which users can activate to run and store security-sensitive applications and data inside a protected folder, named 'container' by Samsung.
