Under the initiative, Samsung would provide advanced healthcare equipment like digital ultrasound, x-ray machines, apart from LED TV, air conditioner and refrigerators to select government hospitals, a press release said.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Samsung India and Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu in November 2017.
Chief Minister K Palaniswami at a function held in Coimbatore recently, formally launched the 15 Samsung Smart Health Centres in the State.
Samsung said it had also partnered with Government of Karnataka and has provided 1,000 tab IRIS to the public health centres in the state.
The tab IRIS was the first commercial IRIS integrated tablet to be approved by UIDAI for Aadhaar, it added.
