The 63-year-old actor, who played Nick Fury in films like "Iron Man", "Iron Man 2", "Thor", "Captain America: The First Avenger", and "The Avengers", said that his character will not be seen in Marvel Studios' next film, reported Digital Spy online.
"I think my next time as Nick Fury is in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' because I'm not in 'Iron Man 3'. None of the Avengers are in 'Iron Man 3'. It's a standalone Iron Man movie," Jackson said.
"Iron Man 2" also featured Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. From Jackson's comments, it seems that she will not appear in the upcoming movie.
Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle will reprise their roles in "Iron Man 3" alongside newcomers Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce.
The film will arrive in UK cinemas on April 26, 2013, following in the US on May 3.
