The film, to be helmed by director Shaad Ali, will feature Diljit Dosanjh as Sandeep. Taapsee will play his love interest in the movie.
"Shaad Ali's film is a biopic shown from a love story perspective. It is a very commercial and young film. I am playing a national level hockey player in the film and the character is based on a real person. The girl existed but we are not disclosing who she was as of now. I am really excited for that," Taapsee told PTI.
"'Mulk' is a very different film. I am getting back to something more intense and hard hitting."
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, "Mulk" also features Rishi Kapoor, Rajat Kapur, Prateik Babbar, Ashutosh Rana and Neena Gupta.
