Sangma told reporters that he cannot rule out nexus between politicians and militant organisations in the Garo Hills region of the state where trouble erupted frequently.
"I had made the position of the government very clear. We cannot rule out nexus between politicians and militant organisations in the Garo Hills region," Sangma said.
Yesterday, opposition Meghalaya People's Front alleged that members of the Congress-led government in the state had an "unholy" nexus with the insurgent groups in the Garo Hills region and demanded an inquiry.
"No politician will be insulated from the purview of law. Law is for all," he said.

Sangma also made it clear that the consultation on the Meghalaya Regulation of Landlords and Verification of Tenancy Bill, 2013, aimed at checking influx and illegal immigration in the state, will continue despite stiff opposition from several quarters.
Sangma also blamed the pro-Inner Line Permit groups for being "adamant" in their demand for implementation of the ILP.
"The pressure groups are adamant that the government should implement the ILP," the chief minister said.
