Sanjiv Bhasin joins as MD & CEO of Centrum Capital

Leading financial services firm Centrum Capital has appointed Sanjiv Bhasin, former head of DBS Bank India, as its managing director and chief executive officer.
Bhasin's responsibilities would be to grow and develop business of the Centrum Group and consolidate its presence in the market, a statement said.
The appointment is effective today.
Bhasin has around 35 years experience in the banking industry. He joined HSBC in 1979 and held senior leadership positions including head of corporate and investment banking, and also as chief executive of HSBC Mauritius, & chief operating officer HSBC India.
In 2004, he joined Rabo India Finance during which the company grew its franchise in the investment banking and lending space.
In 2008, he joined DBS Bank India as its head and led the institution to become the fourth largest foreign bank in the country in terms of assets. He left DBS recently.

Commenting on the appointment, Centrum Group founder Chandir Gidwani said, "to have Sanjiv join us will enable the group to expand. Centrum, in its short tenure, has built a strong presence in the areas of wealth management, investment banking, equity and debt capital markets, foreign exchange and travel and tours businesses."
Centrum Capital is a leading merchant banker with over two decades of experience.
"The opportunity to leverage talent and technology for improved service delivery and customer experience in each of Centrum's businesses will be the key focus areas to enable it to strengthen its position in the financial services industry," Bhasin said.
It has expertise across equity & debt with capabilities in equity capital markets, M&As, corporate finance & advisory, primary & secondary debt placement, project finance and corporate debt restructuring.
