Santiniketan International Documentary Film festival

The Santiniketan International Documentary Film festival would be inaugurated at Lipika auditorium of Visva Bharati university tomorrow by West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi..
The four-day film festival is being jointly organised by Visva Bharati university and Film Division [Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Veteran film personalities - Adoor Gopalkrishnan, Goutam Ghosh, Mike Pandey, Haobam paban Kumar would be present in the film festival as guest of honour.
Addressing a press meet Manish Deshai, secretary, Films division today said that 21 award winning documentary films from eight countries would be screened in this film festival.
Vice-Chancellor of Visva Bharati university, Swapan Kumar Dutta said, "We are pondering over film making courses to be conducted here with the support of Film Division."

A 21-minute workshop film titled 'Master stroke' on the life and works of Ramkinkar Baij which had been prepared by the students of Visva Bharati would be shown in the inaugural programme.
