According to the revised policy, women will now be allowed to take 26 weeks of maternity leave which was earlier set at 12 weeks, a company release said.
The new policy will also allow new fathers to take paternity leave of 10 working days as against of 5 days, it added.
In addition, both the mother and father will be allowed to avail work-from-home and flexible/part-time working options, to ease their transition back to work after the leave period.
Through this initiative, expecting women will be assigned an office buddy to help them handover their work and on their return, go through an orientation program to acclimate them back into the work environment.
"Sapient's focus and commitment on diversity and inclusion has helped the company in retaining talent and building great leaders. The new parental program will provide greater flexibility to our people, to balance both work and family," Rao added.
