Saptashrungi Devi temple to be closed from Nov 26-Dec 25

The famous Saptashrungi Devi temple in Kalwan taluka in the district would be closed for devotees from November 26-December 25, owing to the PWD department's exercise to step up security and preventive measures in view of landslide incidents.
The temple is situated in the hills and landslides are frequent, thus prompting the Public Works Department (PWD) to install protection nets around the temple, K R Kedar, Engineer in the department, said.
Iron nets would be installed around the temple based on foreign technique. Helicopters would be utilized for the engineers who would be working amidst rocky areas at high altitude, he said.
