"The Chairman (Vohra) shall personally review arrangements at the holy Cave, Panjtarni and Sheshnag Camps from June 21 onwards," a spokesman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board said today.

Vohra, who is Chairman of the SASB, chaired a review meeting here yesterday to take stock of the delays caused by the continuing inclement weather in the Yatra area, he said.

Recognising the likely difficulties which may be caused because of the significantly slow melting of snow in the higher reaches of the Yatra area, the Governor has despatched the CEO of SASB Navin K Choudhary and the Head of Engineering Division R K Pandita to visit each camp and ensure completion of the required tasks well in time.

Taking note of the problems faced at Sangam, Vohra has ordered deployment of two senior officers at the site.

"Consequently, a camp has been set up at Sangam and has started functioning," the spokesman said.

The Amarnath yatra is scheduled to start from June 25 but the inclement weather has been hampering the snow clearance operations along the twin routes of Baltal and Pahalgam.
