Satish, Sharma power Vidarbha to a 158-run win over Tripura

Ganesh Satish and Jitesh Sharma blasted twin centuries as Vidarbha trounced Tripura by 158 runs in their Group C match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at Palam B Ground here today.
Put into bat, Vidarbha posted a mammoth 324 for five in their stipulated 50 overs, courtesy an unbeaten 140 off 134 by Satish and a 108-ball 105 by Sharma. Satish cracked 12 boundaries and four sixes, while Sharma's innings was laced with 10 boundaries and a six.
For Tripura, Rana Dutta (2/57) and C K Paul (2/64) were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each, while MB Murasingh (1/79) snapped one wicket.
Chasing 325 to win, Tripura never seemed to be in the hunt as they lost wickets at regular interval with Samrat Singha (32) and Sanjay Majumder (39) being the highest scorer.
Tripura's fight lasted for 47.4 overs as they were dismissed for 166 to hand over a massive victory to Vidarbha in the end.
AA Wakhare (3/29) returned with three wicket haul for Vidarbha, while R D Thakur (2/41), AK Karnewar (2/12) snapped two wickets and Umesh Yadav (1/10) and R Jangid (1/48) took one each.
