Saturday Night Live to re-air classic episodes for 40th season

Popular sketch comedy and variety show 'Saturday Night Live' will re-air classic episodes to celebrate its 40th season.
SNL Vintage will begin airing on Saturday nights at 10pm ET, with each instalment edited down to one hour, reported Entertainment Weekly.
NBC will air a December 1975 show featuring host Richard Pryor and musical guest Gil Scott-Heron on the first Saturday.
The following weekend on October 4, the Peacock Network has scheduled an April 2000 episode starring Christopher Walken and Christina Aguilera.
NBC is slated to air an all-star primetime special celebrating Saturday Night Live's anniversary in February.
SNL kicks off its new season this weekend, with host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande.
Sarah Silverman and Bill Hader will both host upcoming episodes, with Jim Carrey also tipped to return for an upcoming show.
