Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut diplomatic ties with Qatar last week, accusing it backing terrorism and promoting policies that destabilise the region. Qatar has denied the allegations.
Over the weekend, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani was in Moscow following a telephone call between Putin and Qatar's ruling emir Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani.
