The PCB last week appointed Sayid as the game development director at the NCA even though he is primarily a businessman with just a keen interest in the game.
This is the first instance where a person who never played a Test has been given the responsibility.
A senior official of the PCB defended the decision to bring in a businessman, saying no well known former cricketer applied for the position.
The businessman was picked after being interviewed by PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan and PCB Governing Board's executive committee chairman Najam Sethi.

Former Pakistan Test captain Rashid Latif said if it was true that no former cricketers had applied for the post then the PCB needed to review its relationship with the ex-players.
"It is an indication that many former players perhaps don't have confidence in this set-up and that feeling needs to change for the good of Pakistan cricket," Latif said.
