SC Commission asks PAU to implement reservation policy in jobs

Punjab Scheduled Castes Commission has directed the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to implement the reservation policy while filling up various teaching and non-teaching positions.
The matter concerning the SC category not getting due reservation in teaching and non-teaching posts in the university was brought to our notice. The Commission had then summoned the vice chancellor and the registrar of the varsity, Chairman of the SC Commission Rajesh Bagha said.
The Commission directed the university to implement the reservation policy while recruiting teachers and non-teaching staff, Bagha said in a statement today.
This has been done to ensure that the deserving candidates belonging to the SC category get job opportunities.

The varsity has also been asked to implement the roster system in every cadre to ensure that the recruitment and promotion of officers and employees are carried out as per the rules.
