The Supreme Court has taught a "fitting lesson," to the BJP-led Centre, he said and termed the installation of BJP propped Kalikho Pul government as a "retrograde move."
Stating that it had become a "routine for those ruling at the Centre" to prop up their own regimes in States ruled by rivals, he said "the apex court ruling is a major blow" for the BJP-led Centre after the big setback in Uttarkhand issue.
He said DMK had consistently opposed "anti-democratic ouster of elected governments by using Article 356 of the Constitution."
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in Cuddalore District, senior Tamil Nadu BJP leader L Ganesan said the ruling has favoured a CM who had lost majority in the Assembly.
