SC judge gets call from minister on his plan to visit Varanasi
Press Trust of India New Delhi "I only hear a PIL. I myself do not do the cleaning," a Supreme Court judge said today revealing that his office got a call from a woman Cabinet minister's staff whether he was going to participate in a Ganga cleaning event in Varanasi.
Disclosing this, Justice T S Thakur, who is part of the bench hearing a PIL on cleaning of the sacred river, said that his staff recently got a call from the office of a woman cabinet minister to ask whether he was going to Varanasi or not.
"I asked my office to convey that I hear the PIL on Ganga. I myself do not do the cleaning," Justice Thakur said.
The judge made the remark during the hearing of a PIL on police reforms.
